Thanks to the generosity of Joan* and Irwin Jacobs, every donation to the Food Bank this summer will be matched dollar for dollar – up to $200,000! ^*Deceased

That means your gift goes twice as far to fight hunger across San Diego County.

Normally, every $1 provides 2 meals – now it provides 4!

This limited-time matching gift opportunity will help provide fresh produce, pantry staples and hope to those who need it most.

2. Host a Virtual Food Drive

Rally your coworkers, friends, or community group to start a Virtual Food Drive. It’s a powerful, simple way to help feed families across our region — and it only takes a few minutes to set up.

We stretch every dollar to purchase healthy, high-demand items like fresh produce, frozen proteins, and dry goods. You’ll receive a custom link to share, so you can raise funds anytime, from anywhere.

3. Drop Off Food Donations at Your Local Store

Through August 5

Look for our iconic red barrels inside all area Albertsons, Vons, and Pavilions locations. Donate unopened, nonperishable food to help keep our shelves stocked throughout the summer.

Most-needed items include:

• Canned meats and fish
• Canned fruits and vegetables
• Canned soups and stews
• Peanut butter
• Cereal and oatmeal
