Payroll Giving

Give Regularly, Straight From Your Paycheck

Support the Food Bank With Payroll Giving

Payroll giving lets you support the San Diego Food Bank with a set amount deducted automatically from every paycheck. You choose the amount, your employer handles the rest, and your gift arrives on a predictable, recurring basis — no renewal required.

For every $1 you give, we can provide two meals for a neighbor facing hunger. Set aside $10 a pay cycle, and over a year that's enough for hundreds of meals across San Diego County, without a single extra step on your part after you sign up.

Enter your employer's name above to find out if they offer payroll giving, then follow their instructions to set up a recurring donation straight from your paycheck.

Why Your Employer's Program Matters

More than 400,000 San Diegans turn to the Food Bank each month, and steady, recurring gifts like payroll donations let us plan ahead instead of reacting month to month. They help us buy in bulk, keep our Miramar and North County warehouses stocked, and move fresh produce out the door before it spoils.

1 in 4* San Diegans experiences nutrition insecurity. Payroll giving turns your workday into a consistent part of the response.

How to Set It Up

1. Search for your employer. If they're listed, you'll see instructions specific to their program.

2. Check with HR if you don't see your employer. Many companies offer payroll giving without advertising it widely; ask your HR or benefits team directly.

3. Choose your amount and frequency. Even a few dollars per paycheck adds up.

4. You're set. Your gift deducts automatically going forward.

Want to change your amount or pause a paycheck? Your payroll department handles all of that directly, just reach out to them if your circumstances change.

Don't see your employer's program yet? Contact us, and we can help you make the case to HR or get the Food Bank added to your company's giving platform.

Payroll Giving and Matching Gifts

Many employers that offer payroll giving also match donations dollar for dollar. If your company offers both, your payroll gift could be doubled automatically. Check your matching gift eligibility to see if your employer will amplify what you're already giving.
