How to Support The San Diego Food Bank
ATTENTION! RESTAURANTS, HOTELS,
AND FOOD SERVICE COMPANIES:
For those looking to donate unused food items, the Food Bank
is asking you to deliver the food directly to our warehouses:
San Diego Food Bank – Miramar | 9850 Distribution Avenue, San Diego, CA 92081 | Delivery Hours: Monday – Friday 8 a.m. to 12 noon and 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. |
North County Food Bank – Vista | 1445 Engineer Street, Suite 110, Vista, CA 92081 | Delivery Hours: Monday – Friday 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. |
Due to the high demand for food assistance, our drivers and trucks are needed to distribute food to the community.
If you need to deliver outside of our delivery hours or have additional questions, please send an email to the Food Procurement Team – DonateFood@SanDiegoFoodBank.org.
PUBLIC DONATION DROP-OFF SITES
If you are looking to drop off your donations at a site closer to your home or place of work, below is a list of public food drives currently taking place. Members of the public are welcome to stop by and drop off their food donations during the designated times listed below.
Please limit your donations at these sites to one or two bags of food. Many of our public donation drop off sites are small, local businesses with limited storage capacity and are not equipped to accept large amounts of donations. If you would like to drop off larger quantities of food, please do so at our Miramar or Vista distribution centers.
Thank you for supporting the San Diego Food Bank’s mission to fight hunger
and feed hope throughout San Diego County!
Donating Homegrown Citrus Fruits: Can the Food Bank accept them?
Due to the current ACP Citrus Quarantine in effect in Southern California, the Jacobs & Cushman San Diego Food Bank can only accept citrus donations from noncommercial sources under the following conditions:
- In order to donate directly to the Food Bank we must have a copy on file of your official “Cooperative Asian Citrus Phyllid and Huanglongbing Quarantine Program Compliance Agreement” with Exhibit ACP Citrus-FS
Should you not have the above document and are unable to file for one then in order to donate any citrus, we encourage you to contact one of the two organizations:
- Produce Good – producegood.org
- Senior Gleaners of San Diego County – www.seniorgleanerssdco.org
These organizations will send out volunteers to pick and inspect homegrown produce and deliver it to food banks in the area including the San Diego Food Bank and our North County Food Bank chapter.
To find more information about the citrus quarantine, please visit www.citrusinsider.org and to file for compliance agreements please contact the San Diego County Department of Weights & Measures. https://www.sandiegocounty.gov/content/sdc/awm/CQP.html
