Kristin Howell has worked in the real estate industry for more than 30 years, managing a wide range of asset types including Class A office buildings, industrial parks, retail centers, commercial owner’s associations, and residential properties. She has been with Meissner Commercial Real Estate Services for 25 years, beginning as a Real Estate Manager, advancing to Senior Portfolio Manager, and since January 2016, serving as Vice President / Director of Business Development.
Kristin has been an active member of the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) San Diego for several years, serving on the Board of Directors for nine years and as President in 2014 and 2015. Her contributions have been recognized with multiple awards, including the “Rising Star of the Year” nomination in her first year, “Principal Member of the Year” in 2010 and 2012, the “Leadership and Excellence Award” in 2013, and the President’s Award in 2017.
She is involved in several industry and community organizations, including serving on the San Diego Food Bank’s Golf Tournament Committee, the Burnham-Moores Center for Real Estate’s Real Estate Committee, and BOMA San Diego’s Government Affairs Committee. Kristin also serves as President of REstart San Diego, a nonprofit that helps individuals recovering from homelessness and other hardships gain a fresh start through education and career development in real estate.
Her professional accomplishments have earned recognition across the region. She was nominated for San Diego Magazine’s “Woman of the Year” in 2014, named one of the “100 Influential Leaders in San Diego” by the San Diego Daily Transcript in 2016, and has been listed as a “Woman of Influence in Construction, Commercial Real Estate, and Design” (2021) and a “Leader of Influence in Commercial Real Estate” (2023, 2024) by the San Diego Business Journal.
Kristin holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from California State University, Bakersfield, graduating cum laude, and an Associate of Arts in Social Sciences from Bakersfield College, where she received the Departmental Award for Social Sciences. She earned her Real Property Administrator (RPA) designation in 2007, her Facilities Management Administrator (FMA) designation in 2018, and most recently, her Certified Property Manager (CPM) designation in 2024.
