Spread the Love This February
Join the San Diego Food Bank’s inaugural nut butter food drive, February 1-28, and help provide protein-rich food to children and families across San Diego County.
February is a time to show love for the people and places that matter most. Through Spread the Love, the San Diego Food Bank is inviting our community to come together to stock our shelves with one of our most requested, kid-friendly foods: nut butter.
Your participation helps support children, families, seniors, veterans, and active-duty military members through our countywide network of more than 450 nonprofit partners.
Why Nut Butter?
Nut butter is a nutrient-dense, protein-rich staple that is especially popular with children and families. Shelf-stable and versatile, a single jar provides more than 16 sandwiches.

Because nut butters cost more than many other foods, this year’s nut butter food drive plays a critical role in keeping this high-impact, nutritious food on our shelves and in the homes of local families facing hunger. Peanut butter is always in high demand, and other nut butters offer allergen-friendly options that help us serve people of all ages.
