Event featured a record-breaking paddle raise and title sponsor match to support Food 4 Kids Backpack Program.
Vista, CA (Aug. 18, 2025) – The Jacobs & Cushman San Diego Food Bank hosted its annual Drive Out Hunger Golf Classic on Monday, Aug. 18, 2025, at Shadowridge Golf Club in Vista, bringing together more than 120 golfers and community leaders for a day of philanthropy and friendly competition that raised more than $210,000 to support hunger-relief programs across San Diego County.
A highlight of the event was the paddle raise, which generated the largest total in tournament history with $27,100 pledged. Title sponsor Neurocrine Biosciences furthered the effort with a generous $20,000 match to benefit the Food Bank’s Food 4 Kids Backpack Program, which provides weekend meals for local children facing food insecurity. The program currently serves 3,700 children each week across 19 school districts and 96 schools regionwide.
“This year’s tournament demonstrated the incredible heart of our community,” said Casey Castillo, CEO of the San Diego Food Bank. “Every golfer, sponsor and volunteer helped turn a day of golf into hundreds of thousands of meals for local families.”
The day featured 30 foursomes competing across 18 holes, along with lively contests and a post-tournament awards reception.
