Community Cares Program

Perform Program Outreach at Food Bank Distribution Sites Countywide

The Community Cares Program is a partnership between the Jacobs & Cushman San Diego Food Bank, our North County Food Bank chapter, and more than 30 health and human service organizations.

Participating nonprofits are invited to attend our food distributions and conduct community outreach to individuals and families receiving food assistance from the Food Bank.

The Food Bank currently hosts more than 130 food distributions countywide in partnership with nonprofit agencies who host the food distributions at their locations, and we serve more than 350,000 people every month.

The number of people attending a distribution site varies from under a hundred people to more than 400 people.

Our food distributions provide an excellent opportunity to expand the impact and reach of your program services.

Our Current Community Cares Partners include:
– CalFresh (formerly Food Stamps)
– Housing and emergency shelter services
– Low-cost gas, electricity and telephone programs
– Low-cost healthcare enrollment services
– Assistance for the elderly, disabled and mentally ill
– Foreclosure counseling

If you are interested in applying to our Community Cares Program, please complete and return the New Outreach Partner Inquiry Form. This form will then be reviewed by the Food Bank’s Nonprofit Relations Department. If your organization seems to fit the mission of the Food Bank, you will be sent an application packet.
