Why we need your help
The San Diego Food Bank (SDFB) provides nearly 24,000 meals a day and feeds over 360,000 people per month. Last year, the SDFB distributed 11.2 million pounds of food, the equivalent of 8.75 million meals. In order to feed so many people in our community the SDFB relies entirely on volunteers to sort, pack and distribute food. Last year, our volunteers worked a total of 50,000 hours
