FISH. FOOD. FEEL GOOD (F3G)
Fish. Food. Feel Good. (F3G) is a San Diego non-profit whose program and benefits are unlike any other has one simple goal: collect unwanted fish from sport fishermen, that would otherwise go to waste, and distribute these nutritious fish to local charities who serve it to those in need.
Charities currently benefiting from F3G donations include: Father Joe's, Samoa Independent, San Diego Rescue Mission and the San Diego Food Bank.
F3G Founder Todd Bluechel founded the program to, "convert, what would otherwise be waste, into nutritious meals for those in need."
F3G relies on generous, mutually beneficial partnerships including San Diego's newest fish processing facility that collects freezes and stores the fish until they've collected approximately 1000 pounds of fish. As soon as the collection bin is full, they call which ever charity is next in line to receive this bounty. The charity then sends a collection truck and everyone feels good!
F3G is extremely encouraged from all the wonderful interest and participation they've received so far and hopes to replicate this program nationally. Mr. Bluechel is confident once sport fishermen and charter captains outside San Diego learn about F3G; they too will want to donate their unwanted fish to local charities using the F3G model as a blueprint.
